YouMatch-Employment Service Study Tour on Internships
The “YouMatch-Employment Service Study Tour on Internships” took place from 13-17 November 2017 in Germany.
The participants from Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda embraced the opportunity to deepen the knowledge exchange on internships within and beyond the YouMatch Network.
The first day of the Study Tour served the discussion of internships as an employment service tool for job orientation, preparation and matching and provided the opportunity for a dialogue on the roles of all stakeholders involved in internships.
From 14-16th of November the representatives from employment service providing institutions, engaged in a fruitful thematic exchange with European and German stakholders. The exchange with European Youth Forum, Internsgopro and the Fair Company Initiative allowed for a in-depth discussion of quality criteria for internships and tools for their implementation and application.
Through Talentbrücke ’s presentation on their work and potential analysis for secondary school students, we could broaden the exchange on internships to the dimension of job orientation and career guidance. The 4th day of our Study Tour helped us to observe internships from different stakeholder perspectives. The Morning Session at IKEA allowed for a great inclusion of the employers’ perspective into the practitioners’ dialogue. During the afternoon the point of view of higher learning institutions has been integrated through valuable discussions at Goethe University Frankfurt.
Our participants and the YouMatch team enjoyed the beneficial and interesting discussions and we would like to thank everyone involved!!
