A Label for YouMatch – UfM labels the Youth Employment Promotion Initiative
On 1 June 2016, the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) gave their political “label” to the toolbox project.
At the beginning of 2016, the Global Initiative on innovative employment services for youth – YouMatch has submitted the Initiative’s Toolbox project to the labeling process of the UfM. During the Senior Officials’ meeting of 43 UfM member states in Jordan, the desired label has now been issued. The label ensures the high level political support of the UfM Member States to YouMatch and its Toolbox Project in MENA.
The Toolbox Project aims at systematically collecting, processing and disseminating good practices for employment services from YouMatch partner countries. In the development of the Toolbox special emphasis will be put on the lessons learnt and process knowledge of the practitioners. Good Practices from Sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA region are, for example, introduced to the YouMatch Dialogue by participants from our partner countries. Just as in the Practitioners’ Dialogue in April 2016 in Kigali, the good practices of the participants will also be the central subject during the Regional Dialogue on Employment Services (MENA) from 18 – 20 July 2016 in Amman, Jordan.
The Toolbox will be published on www.youmatch.global and is expected to be available at the end of 2016. To support sustainability and scalability of the Toolbox, its implementation will especially value the interlinking of different levels (national/ subnational/ municipal), its expandability as well as its maintainability after the end of the project period. Additionally, YouMatch is building on existing bilateral programs in its partner countries.
